Classic Potato Gratin


4 large potatoes, sliced thinly
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste


Preheat oven to 375°F.
Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Layer potatoes in the dish, seasoning each layer with salt and pepper.
In a saucepan, heat cream, garlic, and half of the cheese until cheese is melted.

Cut off the top of the garlic head and drizzle with olive oil. Wrap in foil and roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until garlic is soft.
In a large pot, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and return to pot.
